Dr. William Ashe Jr. is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist who has practiced in the Charlotte region for over 30 years. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia and fellowship at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Ashe has extensive experience in all aspects of childhood respiratory disorders, including premature lung disease, acute/recurrent respiratory tract infections, airway anatomic abnormalities, and asthma with associated exercise-induced symptoms. He has a strong interest in identifying and treating the allergic triggers that may affect these disorders, utilizing state-of-the-art therapies to lessen respiratory symptoms.
Dr. Ashe has received numerous awards, both locally and nationally, for his clinical care throughout his career. He founded and co-directed the Western Carolina Cystic Fibrosis Center for the first 25 years of his career and continues as the Director of Pulmonary Medicine at Holy Angels Center for technologically dependent patients. He is affiliated with both Atrium and Novant Health care systems.
In his spare time, he enjoys a number of outdoor activities, including golfing.
