Dr. Caicedo has been a proud member of the Charlotte community since 2008. She has shared her passions-advocacy, education and the practice of allergy, immunology and asthma care with the Charlotte community for the past seven years.

Dr. Caicedo has been actively involved in both the local and national medical communities. She is the Past President of the Charlotte Pediatric Society, is the current Vice President of the North Carolina Allergy Asthma & Immunology Society and serves as Medical Management Co-Chair for the North Carolina Asthma Alliance. In February of 2015, she was appointed by The American Academy of Pediatrics and The Allergy & Asthma Network as North Carolina’s sole Medical Home Champion for Allergy Asthma & Anaphylaxis. She speaks throughout the local and state medical communities on allergy and asthma related topics.

Dr. Caicedo has been involved in multiple clinical research studies as well as national quality improvement studies. She is also a member of the Carolinas Eosinophilic Esophagitis Collaborative. She believes strongly in advocacy and was proud to assist in the efforts to obtain funding for one registered nurse for every local public Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) as well as implementing stock epinephrine throughout CMS. She has also served as a Medical Advisor and is a strong advocate for the local Charlotte area Parents of Allergic Kids (PAK) organization. In 2015, she began to volunteer as a Medical Advocate for Mothers and Others for Clean Air. In December of 2015, she was appointed to the Board of Managers of YMCA Camp Thunderbird and serves as the camp’s Medical Director.

Dr. Caicedo is committed to providing the very best allergy and immunology care for infants, children, adolescents and adults. She believes in partnering with her patients to provide them with personalized, evidence-based treatment plans. She has consulting privileges at Carolinas Medical Center and Novant Health facilities. Her clinical interests include evaluation of immune system function and after completing her Pediatric residency, she performed a year of specialized training in clinical immunology at the University of Florida. During this year she received national recognition for her research in Immunodeficiency. Her clinical interests also include food and environmental allergies, eosinophilic GI disorders, atopy patch testing, food intolerances, atopic dermatitis and other skin disorders, insect and venom allergies, and comprehensive pediatric and adult asthma management. She is passionate about all forms of food allergy and during her fellowship conducted patient-oriented research in eosinophilic esophagitis and developed novel protocols for patch testing to foods. She brought her protocols to Charlotte, providing expanded treatment options for patients with eosinophilic esophagitis and atopic dermatitis.

She has been married to her husband Ricardo since 2002 and they have two children. She enjoys volunteering at her children’s school and has been teaching faith formation at St. Matthew Catholic Church since 2010. She enjoys cooking, tennis, and reading. She enjoys being active and is always looking for her next fitness challenge. She looks forward to meeting and caring for you and your family.
